Last week I was scheduled to go backpacking with a friend through Zion National Park, but that fell through. Since I still had the days off, I began to make plans to do some backpacking in Grand Gulch, but Jessica suggested I wait. That lead to an opportunity to take my three-year-old son, Lennox, out for a father-son adventure, since he's not yet in school, to do a bit of reconnaissance on some road conditions, campsites, and hiking trails for our upcoming spring break trip I've been planning for the rest of the family.
